Cloud Architect/Developer – Satellite Communications

Full Time Sofia, Bulgaria

Does the idea of working on cloud-platform which communicates with small satellites (from pointing the antenna to space, through decoding the received data and sending it up to a cloud API) sound interesting to you? Can you develop serverless backends and robust APIs in the cloud? If yes – read on.

We are looking for an experienced cloud developer/architect (preferably with hands-on AWS experience) to help us bring our automated satellite operations platform to the next level.


You will be working on an end-to-end satellite operations platform integrating on-site hardware equipment (antennas, modems, etc.) with cloud-based APIs and user-facing applications.

This includes:

  • Collaborating with various teams (RF, embedded software) on developing ground to space communication protocols
  • Collaborating with UI/UX developers by provisioning satellite data and control interfaces for web-based panels
  • Participate in a minimal overhead but tight agile delivery process
  • Collaborate with management on pre-sales initiatives for acquiring new customers
  • Collaborate on project management tasks for inter-project delivery goals (program management)
Essential Requirements
  • 3+ years experience with Java 8 or newer
  • General development/architecture experience with AWS or other cloud providers
  • Spring and Spring Boot
  • REST/WebSocket API design and development
  • SQL/NoSQL databases
  • Container based solutions (Docker)
  • Experience with security mechanisms and permissions management – OAuth2, OIDC, Spring Security
Requirements Considered an Advantage
  • NodeJS or Python experience
  • Communication protocol development
  • Subscription based services
  • Serverless architectures
  • Customer facing pre-sales and consulting
  • Some project/program management experience
  • General software architecture, design and delivery experience in a leading position
